JUSTIN MORRIS | GLOBAL STRATEGY DIRECTOR
How long have you worked for Modality Systems?
Almost 10 years. I joined in October 2009 when our office was above a real estate agent. I think I was employee no. 6 or thereabouts!
What attracted you to the company?
I was planning my move from Australia to the UK and was looking for a company that worked with my passion - Microsoft UC. I found one of the co-founders John Lamb on the Microsoft MVP page and discovered Modality Systems. I knew that joining a company whose technical founder was regarded as an industry expert along with deep specialisation and commitment to Microsoft UC was the right move for me.
What was your first day like?
I met James, John and the team, received my laptop and an overview of current projects. John gave me a ride home back into London and actually continued to give me a lift to work every day for my first 2 years! A few days after that I was on-site at customers deploying or troubleshooting Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2.
What does working here mean to you?
There’s a sense that we’re all here for the same reasons, that we’re all part of a tribe trying to help people work smarter using the latest Microsoft tech. There’s no bureaucracy and everyone gets a fair go to do the work they want to do. I can say confidently that working here has defined who I am over the last 9 years.
How would you describe what you do?
I lead a talented team that enables modern teamwork with Microsoft intelligent communications; helping everyone work more effectively from anywhere.
