How long have you worked for Modality Systems?
Almost three and half years.
What attracted you to the company?
To be honest, this industry was fairly unknown to me, but I was interviewed by about 4 people (at once!) and the impression they gave of Modality Systems as a whole, seemed extremely welcoming and enjoyable.
What was your first day like?
Before I arrived to the office, I felt extremely overwhelmed - this was a new job, a new industry and I would be meeting lots of new people. But once I arrived, I settled in well and felt completely relaxed.
What does working here mean to you?
Working here has given me opportunities that I probably wouldn’t get from another organisation. The company have helped me grow, develop my skills and find a career that I love. I first started here as an Office Administrator, assisting the Business Manager. I am a fast learner, and have always been ambitious; soon I was expanding my role and getting involved in other departments and different projects. I moved to a Business Development role, working across Marketing and Sales. During this role, I began to understand more about the link between the operational side of the business and the sales team. I then moved into a new role within the Project Management Office, and within a year I was promoted to my current role.
How would you describe what you do?
I am a Project Co-ordinator, but my role really splits between Managed Service, Software & Professional Services.
Describe Modality Systems in one word:
Fast-paced (wait, is that one word or two?!)
What's the best part of your job?
The feedback and improvement suggestions I am able to provide. If a process isn’t working, we are always welcome to discuss our suggestions as to how we can improve it. Because of this, there is rarely a part of my day I don’t enjoy.
Describe a typical day:
I don’t have one day that is the same. I tend to start my day with a clear ‘to-do list’, then a report usually needs to be completed early. I may have a project escalation to deal with or have meetings regarding Consultant bookings. Actions are then required to be added to my ‘to-do list’, I will then start my ‘to-do list’ or reassess what is of the highest importance; before you know it, then the day is over!
If you could have one super power, what would it be?
To be able to fly.
What's your favourite food?
Spaghetti Bolognese with lots of garlic bread :)
If you could be an animal, what would you be and why?
Probably a Giraffe as I have always be the smallest & I would like, for once, be the tallest!
